Katzenberg to the rescue for Obama Super PAC

The Democrats' Priorities USA Super PAC "has turned to DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg as part of an effort to shore up its lagging performance," Tina Daunt says at the Hollywood Reporter. Katzenberg will host a small dinner for the committee on March 27 at Scarpetta in Beverly Hills. "In an indication of the importance the White House attaches to ramping up the tempo of Priorities’ fundraising, which has badly underperformed by comparison with similar Republican efforts, President Barack Obama’s senior political advisor, David Plouffe, will make the trip out for the event," Daunt reports.

Tonight at the White House: Angelenos attending the state dinner for British Prime Minister David Cameron include George Clooney, David Bohnett, Deborah Borda, Idris Elba, Chad Griffin and Jerome Fallon, James and Mai Lassiter, Wendell Pierce, Barry Karas, John Legend and Dana Matthew Perlman. Notable others include Warren Buffett, Carey Mulligan, California AG Kamala Harris, journalist Andrew Sullivan and several ABC staffers. The main course is Bison Wellington.
