DNC chair does Villaraigosa no favors on KABC

In this clip, Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz showed up [via phone] unprepared to be grilled about Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa by KABC talk host Doug McIntyre. First, the congresswoman from Florida didn't appear to know that McIntyre, who regularly skewers Villaraigosa on the air and is his Daily News column, would have the knives out over Villaraigosa heading up the Democrats' national convention this summer in Charlotte. She described Villaraigosa as soon to be taking over the highest position at the "National Association of Mayors" — it's the U.S. Conference of Mayors and he's well into his term as president already. And she had no comebacks for McIntyre's legit hits on the mayor, his exaggerations of Villaraigosa's failings or over-reaches like calling LA Weekly the progressive paper in town [once, but not for a long time now.]

They part with madame chair subdued and McIntrye chuckling. Listen above to the three-minute clip.
