Kings take 1-0 lead in NHL playoffs

canucks-fan-41112.jpgThe Los Angeles Kings went into Vancouver tonight and upset the number-one seed, winning 4-2 and pretty much dominating. Mike Richards, Willie Mitchell, Dustin Penner and Dustin Brown scored for LA, the last one into the empty net. The Kings' Kyle Clifford left early with an upper-body injury. They play again in British Columbia on Friday.

Wednesday sports notes:

  • Vin Scully missed a second game to recuperate from what the team calls a cold. The Dodgers won 4-1 over Pittsburgh.
  • The Lakers and Clippers won today, the Angels lost.
  • Las Vegas high school senior Shabazz Muhammad announced he will play basketball for UCLA.
