Lakers lead! For awhile! Then they lose, season over

lakers-out-kobe-2012.jpgThe Lakers never had much of a chance of beating the ascending Oklahoma City Thunder. And they went pretty meekly, losing 4 of 5 games. Looked like a huge crowd of blue-wearing fans outside the Oklahoma City arena waiting to party at the final buzzer. Score: 106-90.

The Thunder, led by Kevin Durant and ex-Bruin Russell Westbrook, and with Lakers alum Derek Fisher, next play the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA's Western Conference final.

With the Lakers and Clippers out, Staples Center's triple playoff scenario proved to be short-lived. Only the Kings are still playing — and their next game is in Glendale, Arizona.
