USS Iowa arrives off San Pedro

uss-iowa-offshore-breeze.jpgThe World War II battleship was towed south from the Bay Area and anchored this morning off the Southern California coast. It will remain about six miles offshore for cleaning of its hull before being brought into its permanent home at San Pedro's Berth 87 and a big grand opening on July 7. The Coast Guard has established a safety zone around the ship so that boaters in the channel don't get too close. Daily Breeze coverage
