Gov. Brown signaled Wednesday that he plans to withdraw his controversial proposal to protect the California bullet train project from injunctions sought by environmental lawsuits. LAT

The LA County Democratic Party unanimously endorsed Jackie Lacey for District Attorney.

Ten disputed votes in the city of Vernon election are scheduled to be counted on Friday, with only six votes separating the finishers in the race. LA Weekly

A new climate change study by UCLA researchers predicts that the number of days with temperatures above 95 degrees each year will triple in downtown Los Angeles, quadruple in portions of the San Fernando Valley and jump five-fold in a portion of the High Desert. LAT
