Tom Cruise PSA for Scientology surfaces *

Video of Cruise talking the Scientology talk is included in a Daily Beast story by a defector from the Church of Scientology's elite and odd Sea Org unit. (The author, Marc Headley, says he "received Scientology counseling from Tom Cruise himself.") The story by Headley details more than a dozen very close similarities between the church's L. Ron Hubbard legends and the cult-leader character played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the upcoming film "The Master," directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.

* Noted: The correct term would be resurfaces, the Scientology watchers tell me. The clip is many years old.
