Prosecution evidence that Councilman Richard Alarcon lied about where he was living to run for office will get its first public airing at a preliminary hearing scheduled today. LAT, DN

City Attorney Carmen Trutanich announced Thursday his plans to crack down on a group of 17 individuals who have been repeatedly arrested for ticket scalping around the Coliseum, Galen Center, Dodger Stadium, LA LIVE and Staples Center. DN

Torie Osborn has joined the Villaraigosa administration as Deputy Mayor for Neighborhood and Community Services, with Larry Frank now Deputy Chief of Staff.

At 1:30 p.m. Councilman Eric Garcetti will name the intersection of Gower Street and Carlos Street in Hollywood as Ian Campbell Square, in honor of the LAPD officer murdered in the 1963 crimes recounted in Joseph Wambaugh's book, "The Onion Field."

Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes accused Councilman Richard Alarcon of allowing his city staff to campaign for him while on the city payroll, and Alarcon fired back. Fuentes' top staffer is running against Alarcon. Sausage Factory
