Mt. Sharp on Mars

By Kevin Roderick | August 6, 2012 6:33 PM

mars-rover-mtsharp.jpg The view from NASA's Curiosity rover of the Mars crater and the mountain, more than three miles in height, that the scientists call Mt. Sharp. The image has been "linearized" to remove the fisheye effect of the lens. Click the photo to see it enlarged.

More early pics from the Mars Science Laboratory, which landed on the planet last night.
