President Obama has nominated Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Beverly Reid O’Connell for a seat on the United States District Court for the Central District of California. 
She has been on the Superior Court since 2005, serving for a time as assistant supervising judge in the North Valley. Judge O’Connell was an assistant United States Attorney from 1995 to 2005, and before that did civil litigation at Morrison & Foerster.
