Mayor Villaraigosa, LAPD chief Charlie Beck and the head of the LAUSD's school police anounced a plan to have an officer visit each district school daily after the winter break, and to hold the city's gun buyback on Dec. 26. DN

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against Kyle Bangayan, a 24-year-old Pomona man arrested Sunday for allegedly making criminal threats against L.A. school kids. The D.A.'s office said the three Facebook postings that attracted police attention were not specific enough to constitute a crime. KPCC

The Pasadena police officers who killed teenager Kendrec McDade reasonably believed he had a gun and the shooting was justified, the DA's office concluded. LAT, Star-News

After years of pursuing separate transportation plans for LAX, Los Angeles World Airports and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority now are working together to develop options for a rail stop that could tie the Green Line and the planned Crenshaw Line to an airport people mover. LAT
