The Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles dropped its plan to black out the names of top officials in sexual-abuse files to be made public soon. An attorney told the Times the archdiocese was now committed to including "the names, clearly legible, every one of them." LAT, AP

Mayoral candidate Wendy Greuel's claim that her office found $160 million in waste, fraud and abuse came under more fire, including from rival Eric Garcetti who said the total is more like $239,000. LAT
