Former mayoral candidate Kevin James will endorse Carmen Trutanich for city attorney this morning outside City Hall.

Trutanich and his former consultant John Shallman have confidentially settled their lawsuits against each other over last year's race for DA. Shallman currently represents rival city attorney candidate Mike Feuer. LA Weekly.

A website personally attacking mayoral candidate Eric Garcetti was placed behind a password after the Daily News asked the Wendy Greuel campaign about the site. Commenters suggest Greuel paid $8,000 to have the site built. DN

Emily's List backed up its endorsement of Greuel with a $400,000 donation to an independent committee backing her campaign. KPCC

The mayoral candidates return to the Sherman Oaks Homeowner Association for a 7 p.m. debate tonight at Notre Dame High School.

USC tweeted that a new Price/LATimes Poll is coming this weekend in advance of the Monday (April 22 -- date fixed) mayoral debate at USC. Twitter

Asked in Sacramento yesterday who he would endorse for mayor, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa took the occasion to reveal he has been talking with Mitt Romney, the Republican ex-candidate for president. "You know, I have a couple of Republican friends who kind of think that I'm challenging my friends from time to time, and they like it," he said.

Fred Pickel, the ratepayer advocate at the Department of Water and Power, said Monday that eliminating coal from the utility's power mix ahead of a state-mandated deadline is projected to cost more than $600 million. LAT
