Kings year of the Stanley Cup finally ends

Thumbnail image for cup-manhattan-beach.jpgThe Kings played their longest game ever tonight in Chicago — deep into the second overtime period — but lost in sudden death when the Blackhawks scored. That eliminates the Kings from only their third appearance ever in the third round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. They managed one win against Chicago, which was the NHL's best team during the season. The Kings posted video of the handshake line following tonight's game:


The Cup final will match the Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins, who each won the championship in the years just preceding Los Angeles.
