LAPD closes missing person case on wife of Scientology leader

There was a flurry of media yesterday circling the news that actress Leah Remini, famously now a disgruntled ex-Scientologist, filed a missing report with the LAPD on Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Church of Scientology head David Miscavige. The community of Scientology critics and defectors hasn't seen Mrs. Miscavige since 2006 or so. They believe she is being held at a Scientology compound in Lake Arrowhead. Why the actress bothered the LAPD with this now is unknown, but in any case the LAPD apparently was able to quickly locate Mrs. Miscavige and drop the case.
