Dodgers do not have (or apparently want) a mascot bear *

dodger-bear-escorted.jpgYes, you may have seen a person in a bear suit promenade on the Cardinals dugout toward the end of last night's Dodgers game. But no, the bear was not official and security escorted him or her away. "The great thing about baseball is that even after 150 years, you can watch a game and see something you've never seen before," says Deadspin. "Last night was one of those games."

* Update: Turns out the bear is a former minor league mascot looking fo rone last shot. Mark Monninger talked to the LA Weekly.
