I'll be going on live at 7:25 a.m. to talk with "Morning Edition" Steve Julian about our colleague Mark Lacter. That is the Tuesday time slot when Mark and Steve would talk about business stories.

* 1 p.m. update: Steve was very gracious. He had been doing the Tuesday morning segments with Mark for nine years, and feels the loss deeply. The station posted a lightly edited transcript of our conversation.

The funeral for Mark Lacter is scheduled for Sunday at noon.
