LA sports: Dodgers tickets, Magic and the Lakers, new marathons

The Dodgers suspended their season ticket sales because they have sold enough. Individual games go on sale Friday on the web, and for the first time the team will raise prices as demand rises for specific games during the season. Bill Shaikin of the LA Times explains.


On the Jay Leno show Monday night, former Lakers star and part owner Magic Johnson said coach Mike D'Antoni is wrong for the team and that the Lakers should have hired Phil Jackson. He also omitted Kobe Bryant from his list of the game's best players. LAT

Los Angeles will host the 2016 men’s and women’s U.S. Olympic marathon trials to choose the runners for the Rio Olympics. The race will be held on a looped course mostly downtown on Feb. 13, 2016. The annual Los Angeles Marathon will be run the following day — Valentine's Day. LAT, ESPN LA
