Santa Monica names Rick Cole its new city manager

rick-cole-twitter.jpgRick Cole, Mayor Eric Garcetti's deputy mayor for budget and innovation, has just been announced as Santa Monica's new city manager. Cole is the former city manager of Ventura and Azusa and was also the mayor of Pasadena in the past. Good timing: Garcetti today signed the latest city budget, an $8.6 billion spending plan that got through the City Council with a minimum of rancor. Cole starts in about a month.
