Glendale's Mystery and Imagination & Bookfellows Bookshops on Brand Boulevard sent out the word Monday. Closing sale of 70 percent off, then the shop will move online. Here's the note from Christine Bell:

Dear Bookfriends,

From our hearts to yours—

Thank you for your past support and the beautiful memories we shared here at the bookstore.

It has become inevitable, we cannot continue to keep our brick-and-mortar bookstore.

The bookstore will be closing its doors, but Malcolm & I will continue to do mail order and internet business.

Your memories will go with us.
