Finally jeans that fit

An editor in pantsWith "media chic" all the fashion rage for fall, the Express stores have designed a line of pants "based on media occupations," says Fox News.

Editor, which are low-rise, wrinkle-free and wearable with kitten heels, loafers and stilettos; Stylist, which are fitted, comfortable and sexy; and Correspondent, which have cargo-ish pockets with tie closures meant for easy access to pens, cell phones and notepads...

Real-life Fox News correspondent Heather Nauert said the practical styles, at least the Express correspondent pants, sound like they have the fashion beat covered.

“When you’re out in the field you need to be comfortable and sensible," she said. "You’re always running around, jumping in and out of cars and trucks. You need the pockets because there’s no place to put a purse, and you have your cell phone, lipstick, powder, pens, pads and IDs."

I like the idea of the intrepid girl reporter chasing a story in "kitten heels" or stilettos. As a write-at-home (and in coffee shops) columnist, my perfect outfit would include a hockey-style head guard (in hot pink or orange), so I won't get nasty welts in my forehead when I bang it on the desk. I do wonder what the well-dressed media whore will be wearing this fall. Any ideas?

The saddest idea is that stylists are media pros. Ha!

remember when fashion editors for newspapers looked like heaps of dirty laundry?
