New look for Downtown News site

The Los Angeles Downtown News kicks off its nicely redesigned website with a hard-edged story by Jason Mandell on the engineer blamed for the fatal Angels Flight mishap. Yanek Kunczynski has a history of fatal ski lift accidents and costly lawsuits, something no one apparently checked on when he was hired to do Angels Flight. Now Kunczynski has fled to Mexico with lawsuits pending over the 2001 accident on Bunker Hill downtown, the paper says. The site redesign, I'm told, was by art director Brian Alison.
