My post down below on Elizabeth Spiers' quip about Los Angeles on Gawker has hit 37 50 comments and counting, many (unfortunately) of the anonymous and senseless variety. Elizabeth herself has come on over to say a thing or two, and on her own site says she's "embarrassed" for anyone who didn't get her joke.
