Cannon to Arnold: stop ducking

Lou Cannon will be on Life and Times Tuesday night (7 p.m., Ch. 28) to talk about his fifth book on Ronald Reagan. He also has an op-ed in today's Los Angeles Times urging Arnold Schwarzenegger to act more like Reagan and participate in more interviews, debates and face to face campaigning.

There is a disconnect between Schwarzenegger's campaign and his promises to do things differently in Sacramento. Although his television commercials and Web site present him as bold and innovative, he is evasive in his personal campaigning. This raises a question. If Schwarzenegger can't handle the give and take of debate or news conferences, how can he deal successfully with a recalcitrant Legislature?

OK, now that I've mentioned two of today's op-ed contributors (see Hasen below) I may as well go all the way. There is also a piece by recall candidate Mary Carey (she's the porn actress) and a rant about the Al Franken book by David Horowitz.
