Handicapping Emmis

Just how serious will Emmis Communications, owners of Los Angeles magazine and Power 106 radio here, be in the crowded derby to acquire New York magazine? Steve Cohn, editor-in-chief of Media Industry Newsletter, told Newsday that Emmis "makes the most sense" and predicts it will end up the buyer. But Keith J. Kelly in the New York Post notes that Emmis "usually doesn't win such shoot-outs" -- and he floats Tribune Co. as a dark-horse candidate. (Via Romenesko)
