L.A. photo blog gets a nod

A New York Times' Week in Review story today on the ethics of phonecams includes an anecdote and photos from members of the Los Angeles-based photo blog community Buzznet.com, which was started by local (MacArthur Park) blogger Marc Brown. Buzznet isn't named in the story, but Brown says he'll take the nod anyway -- and he vows that a site redesign will launch tonight. The NYT story also quotes Xeni Jardin, the contributor to NPR's Day by Day and co-editor of BoingBoing, on why she has stopped posting phonecam photos from her L.A. life to her website at Xeni.net.

"I didn't like what was happening to me," she said. "Every time I saw something cool or ironic or funny I immediately felt the need to phonecam-blog it. It was taking up way too much time and attention."

The blogger's lament.
