New links on the right

The right side column of links has been freshened and cleaned up. The recall cluster is gone, for instance. I think it's a little more logical, but let me know if I'm wrong. New sections have been added with blogs and websites maintained by journalists mostly in Los Angeles, and with sites by L.A. authors. It also gave me a chance to catch up with most of the links I've been meaning to add. I'm sure some are missing -- consider it a work in progress.

I think in cleaning the links something was altered in the layout. In Safari the links are not displaying next to the main copy - they are at the bottom of the blog.

Hmm, no settings for the layout were changed, so it's a mystery. I heard from another Safari user with the same issue. I'll tinker and see if I can find something that caused it -- but suggestions from the Movable Type savvy are welcome.

Also, there is no link to email you directly. Clicking on your name just opens another page of LAO.
At the top of the page you spell at instead of @.

Thus, if this will help, here is the "source page" as observed with Safari

L.A. Observed

function OpenComments (c) {
window.open(c,
'comments',
'width=480,height=480,scrollbars=yes,status=yes');
}

function OpenTrackback (c) {
window.open(c,
'trackback',
'width=480,height=480,scrollbars=yes,status=yes');
}

Kaus votes for no editors

Prompted by the Gregg Easterbrook flap, Mickey Kaus offers a long defense of unedited blogs. In the course of it, he manages to compliment Luke Ford.

This did not help. The source was converted into plain English...

Well, regardless of whatever technical dificulties you are experiencing, I appreciate the inclusion of my site on your list.

Not using "@" is smart. Avoids the spambots, in theory. Of course, I can't do that it when I post here.
