Robert Kardashian, the Simpson friend and lawyer who later questioned the football star's innocence, died last night of cancer. It was at Kardashian's Encino home where Simpson began his notorious flight from police custody in a white Bronco -- the single most bizarre and "only in Los Angeles" local news event in my memory. Who can forget the crowds getting out of their cars on the San Diego Freeway to cheer O.J. on his last run.
