Arnold, Day One

KCRW plans to carry the Schwarzenegger swearing-in ceremony live at 11 o'clock this morning. Meanwhile, historian and state librarian Kevin Starr in the L.A. Times' Sunday Opinion section (and veteran Republican consultant Dan Schnur today) give Arnold some advice on bipartisanship and centrism. Jill Stewart in the Daily News tells Arnold and Richard Riordan to get up to speed on education. And Dan Weintraub at the Sacramento Bee spells out just how bad the budget crisis is -- and how much worse it likely will be if the car tax is rolled back. Sounds like saving a couple hundred bucks now could cost us all a lot more in the end since money to reduce everyone's vehicle license fee will have to be borrowed.
