Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation goes on public display today at the Central Library. It was the star attraction last night at the preview showing in the Getty Gallery, by all accounts. It's here only until Monday, as part of the American Originals: Treasures From the National Archives display. Tickets to enter at specific times are free but necessary, available through the website.

You can't get any more tickets online, but they are pretty easy to obtain outside the library. There were no lines Friday. There may be on Sunday when the library is open for only four hours.
Saturday would be the best day to go. The library is open until 6 and the parking is just $1 for the whole day.

A very interesting exhibit, nicely presented. I've been going to the Central Library since I was a kid, and it's great to see what a vibrant place it's become. Events like this play a big part in that.
