Paris carries Florida

Paris Hilton and "The Simple Life" on Fox outdrew Diane Sawyer's primetime sitdown with President Bush Tuesday night. Paris stomped the Prez among 18- to 34-year-olds (22% to 7%), and won among both men and women in the 25 to 54 bracket. She even carried Florida, writes Lisa de Moraes in the Washington Post:

While the president was talking to Sawyer about this and that, Paris was being named to her first public office, as co-chair of the Altus, Ark., Springtime Gala, where she demonstrated her considerable leadership qualities, rejecting the lobbying efforts of crony Nicole Richie to get two local boys to French-kiss each other -- or freedom-kiss, as the Bush administration would prefer it be called.

With these demos, she suggests the Democrats run Ms. Hilton for the White House.
