Abramson's back

Can't let the day pass without noting the return to the spotlight of big-name lawyer Leslie Abramson. She planned to retire in June, but instead joins the Phil Spector defense team as Robert Shapiro exits.

"It's a very weak case, no matter how you slice it," she said. "The physical evidence does not support a murder theory at all. I don't quite get it."

What else could she say? Abramson is best known, the Times says, for defending Erik Menendez, who was convicted with his brother Lyle of murdering their parents.
