Cheney and ScaliaTurns out that veep Dick Cheney and Justice Antonin Scalia didn't just happen to go duck hunting in Louisiana at the same time last month. The Times' David Savage and Richard Serrano report today that Scalia was Cheney's guest and they rode together from Washington on Air Force Two. The second graf:

The revelation cast further doubts about whether Scalia can be an impartial judge in Cheney's upcoming case before the Supreme Court, legal ethics experts said. The hunting trip took place just weeks after the high court agreed to take up Cheney's bid to keep secret the details of his energy policy task force.

Savage, the paper's longtime Supreme Court reporter, wrote the original story on January 17.
