DN looks for Executive Editor

Journalist RiShawn Biddle (on his blog) turns up a Daily News job opening: Executive Editor. It's posted on Journalism Jobs.com:

The Los Angeles Daily News seeks an executive editor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the newsroom. The newspaper is resuming its search after a pause. If you previously applied your application is still under consideration. The ideal candidate would likely be the editor, managing editor or hold a key editing position at a daily newspaper, with a track record of courageous journalism, strong editing, and excellent people skills. Ties to Southern California would be a plus. The Daily News is a 178,000 daily, 200,000-circulation Sunday newspaper serving northern Los Angeles County. It's a feisty newspaper that focuses on local news.

The DN's current newsroom bosses are Editor David Butler and Managing Editor Ron Kaye.
