In the glare of Disney Hall

Not the fame or the music, but literally the glare off the shiny stainless steel skin. Residents of the condos across Hope Street say they have to close their blinds and turn up the air conditioner to fend off reflected light and heat. Disney Hall officials have put up netting and traced the problem to a mistake in construction and using the wrong steel wrapping in one spot. The story is in the LAT.

The balcony of my fifth floor apartment in Glendale has a southerly view of the L.A. skyline and the most dominant feature happens to be the bright, glaring lights from the Disney Concert Hall -- nine miles away.
