In the March 15 issue of Forbes, Los Angeles bureau manager Seth Lubove asks of Roy E. Disney and Stanley Gold, "so who are these guys--really?" He goes on to report that while Roy has complained about Michael Eisner taking the Disney brand away from wholesome family entertainment, the nephew of Walt Disney owns a stake in one of the world's largest condom makers. Lubove also points out that Southern California Senior Life magazine ran a recent cover screed calling on readers to help oust Eisner without disclosing that Roy Disney had acquired the publication.
I really don't give a rip about the whole Disney mess. What puzzles me, however, is why Seth Lubove thinks I should be bothered that Roy Disney is invested in a company that makes, among other things, condoms?

I suppose that one could reasonably argue that condoms are a sensible alternative to unwanted pregancies and abortion, so ... ah, hell I've been listening to this right wing spin on moral issues the last week for too long. And don't even get me started on Clear Channel.
Bottom line is that Eisner is quickly becoming the George W. Bush of the entertainment industry. They acquired ABC and what did we get? "According to Jim" and "8 Simple Rules". And the Pixar break-up. What was that noise? And, hey, how about that cash cow, Euro Disney?
