Otherwise, it's pretty slim pickings for locals on the list of finalists announced today. Of possible interest: Martha Stewart Living received two nominations, Slate is nominated for General Excellence Online and Laura Hillenbrand's first-person story about the sudden onset of her debilitating illness is a finalist in the Essay category.
