New wrinkle at WGA

Screenwriter Chuck Pfarrer, who really did serve as a Navy SEAL, has sent an open email to members of the Writers Guild calling out guild president Charles Holland, who has claimed to be a Special Forces veteran. Roger L. Simon discloses the email on his blog and writes:

Pfarrer notes that everyone who has served in the Special Forces has a DD 214 folder with his or her full service record. This folder is public record available to anyone and could be ordered online. Holland, however, had not done so because he evidently does not have such a folder. He claims his service was “top secret.” Yeah, sure.

As Pfarrer puts it in his email:

"Charles Holland is a liar. He is a poseur, a fake and a poltroon. He is a man willing to steal valor....He is a charlatan - not the person I want to be the president of my Union."
