Striking similarities

Consider this paragraph in a recent top-of-the-page lead story in the L.A. Daily News by Troy Anderson, about recycling firms accused of skimming money:

Californians bought more than 18.2 billion carbonated and noncarbonated drinks in aluminum, glass, plastic and bi-metal containers last year. More than 10.6 billion, or 60 percent, of those containers were recycled, saving natural resources, conserving energy and extending the life of landfills.

Now look at this passage on the offical California Department of Conservation website:

Californians bought more than 18.2 billion carbonated and non-carbonated drinks in aluminum, glass, plastic and bi-metal containers last year. More than 10.6 billion of those containers were recycled, saving natural resources, conserving energy and extending the life of our landfills.

A little missing attribution, perhaps?
