KNBC reported that the LAPD has issued a threat advisory after federal officials received an "unsubstantiated potential threat of an attack" planned against an unspecified West Los Angeles shopping mall for Thursday. Malls are enhancing security and more LAPD will be on the streets.
Mayor Jim Hahn "is urging all Los Angeles residents to go on with their daily lives while remaining vigilant and alert," said press deputy Shannon Murphy. "If the public sees anything suspicious, they should call 1-877-A-THREAT."

There's a contradicton--"going about a daily life in LA while remaining alert". Can't be done.
At least I don't have report anything out of the ordinary--only suspicious. Cuz otherwise, I'd be dialing nonstop.
Ah yes, my daily dose of LA stereotyping. What would I do without it?
Posted by: Alex at April 29, 2004 10:18 AMWhy can't the terrorists stick to the Valley or East LA?
Posted by: Tiffany at April 29, 2004 03:40 PMThis seems silly. How many attacks in the last 3 years have come with an advance warning?
