Nice splash in the Times Calendar section today for author Denise Hamilton, the ex-LAT reporter whose main character in her Los Angeles-based mystery novels, Eve Diamond, is (as she was) a reporter in the Times' old suburban zones. Hamilton's latest Last Lullaby grew out of a story she wrote for New Times when it was around. The feature is by Irene Lacher, another former LAT staffer who now freelances. Also: The Michael Connelly juggernaut continues with a Gary Dretzka column at Movie City News.
