Thanks to Mack Reed at LAVoice.org for commiserating online over my troubles in moving to a new and better computer host. It's of particular interest to Mack since he too has a website hosted at the service I left, Lunarpages (it's not LAVoice). Besides a couple of long nights and many hours offline, the move's biggest downside seems to be that the permanent links on some archived posts have changed.

I'd rather that not have happened, but it mostly means that some of the people who get here from Google looking for Gretchen Carr and Sharon Tay pics and the address of the Playboy Mansion may be a little lost. While cleaning out my Lunarpages files, I had a little fun scanning the search logs. The most popular search terms that bring non-regulars to L.A. Observed would make you think the Internet is populated mostly by adolescent boys and dirty old men.

In April we had the news boomlet about porn actress Lara Roxx testing positive for HIV. She knocked the ever-popular (except in the Nielsen ratings) Channel 2 news anchor Paul Magers out of the top spot:

Rank Searches Search term
1 4206 lara roxx
2 394 paul magers
3 385 porn hiv
4 378 gretchen carr
5 251 lara roxx pictures
6 235 la observed
7 219 lana roxx
8 207 lara roxx photo
9 201 sharon tay
10 188 sharon tay razor

In March, Paul and Gretchen reigned but Rick Dees and Sandra Tsing Loh were in the news:

1 598 paul magers
2 445 gretchen carr
3 178 la observed
4 151 rick dees
5 120 girl fights
6 100 air america radio
7 92 loh life
8 84 sandra loh
9 75 the loh life
10 71 sandra tsing loh fired

Where did Zankou Chicken come from? The February Top 10:

1 505 paul magers
2 458 gretchen carr
3 385 rick dees
4 97 la observed
5 66 indie 103
6 64 laobserved
7 60 zankou chicken
8 51 girl fights
9 51 paul magers kcbs
10 48 leland wong

Another upside of the move is I may finally be shamed into freshening the About This Site and Who? links this weekend.
