Saturday blogging panel *

The organizers of that joint L.A. Press Club-American Cinema Foundation event on Saturday night — the one with all the brouhaha over Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs — have put out the word to RSVPers that unnamed guests won't be accomodated. The room only has so many seats, there's a waiting list, and to get past security names have to be on a list — so no "plus ones" and "twos" this time. They also ask that you email to free up your seat if you aren't going. End of public service announcement...

* Update: Play-by-play and instant reactions to the panels by Mack Reed, Sean Bonner, Caryn Coleman and Amy Alkon.

"Plus one" is OK if you RSVP'd that way, and a couple of people cleared "plus twos" with me a week or so ago, when we hadn't reached the limit. But some have RSVP'd "plus two" or even "plus three" without asking if that was OK. All I can say is, at this point there really is a waiting list, and I'm hoping everyone will get in, because of course some people who say they'll come don't actually show up. But it's probably wise not to bring along a posse.

Thanks for the public service announcement Kevin!
