Library Tower was a target

Downtown L.A.'s tallest skyscraper was on the first list of targets for the Sept. 11 hijackers but was rejected by Osama bin Laden, the commission investigating the 2001 attacks reiterated today. The building, known then as Library Tower and now as U.S. Bank tower, is the highest skyscraper west of Chicago. (Via AP)
