Kim Masters may be losing her Esquire contract to produce Hollywood stories, Defamer hears. If true, she's still got her deal with NPR at least. NPR local is, however, looking for a part time assistant news producer, and Public Radio Weekend wants a senior arts editor-reporter here. The Los Angeles Business Journal has also posted a job for its first Internet editor, citing plans for an expanded web site in the fall. Some other local slots up for grabs on Journalism Jobs.com:

• Manager of Web Operations, ABC7
• Editor in chief, Santa Barbara magazine
• Senior Business Editor, Orange County Register
• Radio reporter, KPFK
• Freelance fact checker, Distinction magazine
• Website Managing Editor, Adult Video News
• Reporter, San Fernando Valley Business Journal
• Overnight reporter, KFI

The Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce is also looking for a manager of communications.

* Added: An editor at the Daily Journal pings L.A. Observed to say the paper is seeking a reporter on the corporate beat and a managing editor for the weekly Daily Journal Extra.

** And: Esquire editor David Granger confirms that Masters' contract was allowed to run out, but not for the reasons that Defamer alleged.
