Dodgers deal now real not *

AP says the Dodgers and two other teams, the Yankees and Diamondbacks, have okayed and submitted the trade that has been rumored since last week. The Dodgers would give up Shawn Green, Brad Penny and a couple of other guys, plus cash, to get back the Yankees' Javier Vazquez and prospects. (Green still has to approve his move to Arizona.) The Dodgers also cut ties with Alex Cora, last season's second baseman, so they no longer can claim one of the best double-play combinations in the league. Much ongoing reaction to this strange, strange off-season at the blog Dodger Thoughts.

* Cold feet: The Dodgers pull out of the deal. One reason may be that Vazquez apparently wanted nothing to do with L.A.
