The Great One returns

GretzkyWayne Gretzky is back on Los Angeles ice (technically, El Segundo ice) this week for a fantasy camp at HealthSouth Training Center. People pay $9,999 to spend five days with #99 and his pals from the hockey world, and it's apparently sold out. Former Kings Marcel Dionne (the second-best scorer to ever play for L.A.), Dave Taylor, Charlie Simmer, Marty McSorley, Rick Tocchet and Jim Fox are among the teeth-deficient ex-jocks stopping by to help him out. Tuesday is the camp's media day, so be warned there might be a few seconds of guys on skates on the local news in the evening. This is probably the final hockey-related post at L.A. Observed until sometime next fall, if then.
