E! does the mea culpa

TextOver on Wilshire, the online staff at E! is trying to take back a gossip nugget they posted announcing the collapse of the Jessica Simpson-Nick Lachey marriage. Under a red headline reading "Statement," this apology is up now on a somber black background: "E! deeply regrets that a draft report from E! Online, which contained some false information regarding the Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson marriage, was accidentally disseminated. The couple has not filed for divorce. E! apologizes to Nick, Jessica, their families and their fans for any distress this may have caused." (Via Defamer)
