Bakewell retiring

No, Danny Bakewell is not stepping down from his duties at the helm of the Los Angeles Sentinel. But he is retiring at the end of the year from the Brotherhood Crusade, the Los Angeles Wave papers report. The story is by Betty Pleasant, who also has a piece on being an eyewitness to the beginning of the 1965 Watts Riot. At the time she was youth editor of the Sentinel, and now she's a reporter and columnist for the rival Wave.
