The first un-Timeslike installment has staffer Pete Metzger, on video wearing shorts, shopping for "offbeat and underground" toys at Wacko on Hollywood Boulevard and at stores in Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Hollywood and the Toy District. ♦ Rep. Henry Waxman introduced a bill to allow building of a Wilshire subway. Now all he needs is $5 billion and twenty years; a change of parties in Congress would help his chances.
♦  Southern California Edison is kicking off the tenants of land under many of its power lines, including the popular Green and Fresh Christmas Tree Farm in Pasadena.
